“Greenacre is located in the south-western Sydney metropolitan area in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is situated 16 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district and is in the local government area of the City of Canterbury. The suburb is bounded by Punchbowl Road to the north, Liverpool Road to the east, Homebush Bay Drive to the south and Salt Pan Creek to the west.
The population of Greenacre was 10,715 at the 2016 census.
The first land grant in the area was made to Captain James Meehan in 1805. The area remained largely rural until after World War II, when it was subdivided for housing. Greenacre was proclaimed a suburb in its own right on 9 January 1969.
Greenacre is surrounded by the suburbs of Bankstown, Chullora, Condell Park, Lakemba and Punchbowl.”
