“Cranebrook is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Cranebrook is located 40 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Penrith. The population of Cranebrook was 4,769 at the 2016 census.
The first European settlers in the area were emancipated convicts who received land grants in 1794. The area remained largely rural until the late 1960s when it began to be developed as a suburb of Sydney. Cranebrook is bisected by the Nepean River, which forms part of the border between New South Wales and Victoria.
