“Wahroonga is a suburb in the Upper North Shore of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Wahroonga is located 16 kilometres (10 mi) north-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Ku-ring-gai Council. Wahroonga had a population of 5,764 people in the 2016 census.
The history of Wahroonga dates back to the early 1800s when it was known as part of the vast land holdings of William Charles Wentworth. His property stretched from Hornsby to Pennant Hills and from Thornleigh to Turramurra. The name Wahroonga is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning “place of plenty”.
