Information on The Suburb, Curl Curl We Are Serving
“Curl Curl is a beachside suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 16 kilometres north-east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Northern Beaches Council. Curl Curl lies between Freshwater and Dee Why.
The population was 2,609 in the 2016 census. Curl Curl has a small commercial area along its northern border with Dee Why, including a convenience store, cafe and a few restaurants.
The suburb is named after the curl curl wave formation found at its beach. Prior to European settlement, the area was home to the Wallumedegal Aboriginal tribe. In 1814, land grantees John and Susannah Bean built a cottage here which they named “Curl-Curl”. The suburb was established in 1949.”
