Information on The Suburb, Vaucluse We Are Serving
“The suburb of Vaucluse is located on the eastern edge of Sydney Harbour, in the Municipality of Woollahra. It is surrounded by the suburbs of Double Bay, Bellevue Hill, Rose Bay and Dover Heights. The population was 8,308 in 2016.
Vaucluse was named after the estate of Richard Boyle, 3rd Earl of Cork, who was better known as Lord Vaucluse. The estate was named after Vaucluse in France.
The area now known as Vaucluse was first settled by Europeans in 1788. In 1810, land grants were made in the area and a small village developed. The village became a suburb in 1913.”
